Storyteller

I am an author, educator, and History Guy.

On the page or in the classroom, I’ve always tried to blend storytelling, scholarship, and just the right dose of mischief. I’m the guy behind Heath the History Guy videos on YouTube, and the creative force behind dozens of projects spanning YouTube, print media, educational games, and curriculum design. I absolutely believe in the power of narrative to educate, entertain, and inspire; in other words, someone get me a TARDIS, a laptop, and a broadsword, and I’ll take a shot at changing the world (or at least entertaining it).

  • “Hamrick is a subtle writer while still conveying a breadth of emotion.”

Self-Publishing Review on PLAY LIKE HE WOULD

  • “The second I’ve read from Heath Hamrick now, and I can see without question that he writes from the heart like few other authors I’ve encountered.”

Matt McAvoy Book Review on PLAY LIKE HE WOULD

  • “Written in a fast-paced, witty style reminiscent of Aaron Sorkin (except, in this story, the good guys lose), Allen and Hamrick’s account blends side-splitting anecdotes, ample cursing, and campaign disenchantment into a timely snapshot of contemporary politics.”

Kirkus Reviews on WORSE THAN YOU THINK
